Not Quite Back Yet

On Thursday I rode Creme down to Gas Works Park for #coffeeoutsideforher.

I showed up a few minutes early so I could practice playing my ukulele. I’m working on a 70s folk song called Brand New Key by Melanie. My favorite verse is:

I ride my bike, I roller skate, don’t drive no car
Don’t go too fast, but I go pretty far
For somebody who don’t drive I been all round the world
Some people think I done all right for a girl

The skies were pretty gray but the rain held off. We met Noah & his son who joined us for coffee. Laura also popped over in between dog walking gigs.

After coffee I headed back towards home with the goal of stopping off at the registrar & changing my name. We changed our names in December but I’ve been a bit lax in actually notifying people.

Of course the office was closed for lunch when I arrived so I went home for lunch & walked back over later.

We decided to head to Wallingford for date night at Landmark Theaters & TNT Taqueria. We thought about biking there but it looked like we wouldn’t be able to both keep our elevation & ride on a non-highway-like stroad.

There’s only 3 ways to cross I-5 & only 1 way on the way. In the end we walked over & concluded that we would NOT want to ride on 45th. It’s super stroad-y right around I-5 & we didn’t want to deal.

I’m also not quite back yet & I’ve been experiencing some pain still. My incision site makes contact (through clothing) with my seat & I think leaning into my seat when riding uphill poses some issues.

Hopefully we’ll find a nicer way to get to TNT & Landmark because those tacos are awesome & the theater plays some awesome indie films.
